As someone who has spent much of my career at the sharp end of business, I can offer a different perspective than many other accountants.  This can provide more value to my clients. I understand how owners can be overcome by the day-today challenges of managing a business and how they can quickly lose sight of why they started up in business in the first place. As an independent accountant I am also a small business owner.
 
I can help you stay focused on what needs to be done to grow your business and improve its profitability. I can act as an impartial sounding board for ideas that you may not be ready to discuss with your team. There are very few new problems in business. If I have not experienced your problem before one of my clients almost certainly has.

• I am a QuickBooks Pro Advisor and a member of The Sage Accountants Network so I can advise and assist on the selection, implementation and training for these accounting software packages. Many of my clients call me when they have an unusual transaction to record, or when they just want to know how something works. I can usually resolve their problems with a short, free, phone conversation.

• I have led the implementation of several ERP systems, most recently Microsoft Dynamics Nav (formally Navision). A complex implementation of this kind needs to be led by a senior member of a company’s staff working with the software supplier. However, I can advise you on the resources and timescales needed for such an implementation, and give an unbiased assessment of the likely pitfalls and benefits.
